[post_content] => Voting in the election for the Society's board of directors is underway with four candidates standing for two vacant seats.

Nominees have had the chance to make their pitches via video this year to give voters a chance to hear from them directly and three of the candidates for the two vacant posts have created a short video spelling out who they are and why they are seeking election.

Biographical details of the candidates along with their statements plus details about how to vote are also available online.

Following a change made to the constitution in 2017,  the elections are by post only. Ballot forms have been sent to registered members who have around a month to choose who should be on the board.

"Last year was the first year that we had postal votes only and the turn-out was encouragingly high," said Mark Taylor, Society Chief Executive. "That is the sign of a healthy organisation. We hope that the use of a leaflet and films on the website will encourage people to engage."

The four standing are: Sue Crump (top left), Selina Hatherley (bottom left), Linda Wicks (top right), and Margaret Kincade (bottom right).

Members can view the videos and details of each candidate in the members' area here under My Society/Board elections 2019 Candidate details.

Voting closes on Friday March 8.
