The Board of the Society of Homeopaths has confirmed that its current policy on animal testing will be reviewed and revised in June 2016 and that, in autumn 2015, it will be launching a debate that will provide members with background information allowing people from all sides of the topic to debate the use of any data from animal research.

The confirmed platforms for discussion include:

The winter issue of the Homeopath (published in December 2015) featuring information and views about the use of data derived from animal testing

A section devoted to animal testing on the Society’s new website allowing views, messages and opinions to be accessed and exchanged

The chance for members to record short films expressing their views and have them posted on the Society’s website

A debate on all aspects of the topic prior to the 2016 Annual General Meeting in Manchester on 19 March 2016.

Other opportunities for debate will be explored and members are welcome to propose suggestions of their own.

Further information to follow in the autumn journal in September.
