Registered Homeopath and women’s natural health expert Kiran Grover explores building a thriving clinic
In the 17+ years that I have been a professional, registered Homeopath I have been asked many times to share my approach on how I have built and grown my own thriving homeopathic clinic.
I have seen many talented Homeopaths invest in educating and building their understanding of homeopathy but struggle at the final stage in building a financially successful homeopathic clinic.
Common mistakes
Many homeopaths who are starting out tend to make these common but familiar mistakes, including:
Pricing your products and services (Too Low/ Too High)
Offering too much time and energy to patients
Not keeping records of accounts and communications
Poor financial planning and accounting
No strategies in place for business growth or product development.
Define your specialism in homeopathy
One way you can succeed in homeopathy is by focusing on a particular specialism.
Having a niche works well for some practitioners; remember the saying ‘you can’t be everything to everyone and nothing to yourself’. By focusing on who your ideal clients could be, you can develop a flow of people who want to work with you and respect your process.
I for one, have found that working with women and hiring female Homeopaths has helped me develop and focus on women’s health and specialist in female hormones and the menopause.
Organise your calendar around appointments
Ask yourself what works for you and then put it in place so that you have boundaries. Every now and again set aside time to strategically review and evolve the way you practice so that you can up-level and ensure it continues to work for you.
Create time dedicated to business strategy
Have a schedule; days where you focus on appointments and have other days for admin and spending time growing your practice, both are equally important. Allocate a few hours a week, or a day where you focus on building your clinic.
Goal setting is a great idea to help you achieve what you want and need in your growing practice. Plan for the day, review your week and put in place monthly and annual goals to help you get things done and to stay focused.
Promotion and marketing
Clients and potential clients need to know about your work and what you can offer them. Spending time writing blog posts, engaging with social media, delivering workshops and webinars etc is time well spent. Your approach needs to be balanced; time with clients and time promoting your business via channels that are accessible to you and your target audience.
Collaboration with experts and other practitioners
For several years now I have had the privilege of working with practitioners in a one to one programme, in groups and through workshops. Exploring how to build their own sustainable solutions-based clinics sharing my own effective and successful strategies to help them develop their own successful practices and I can help you too.
