Flourishing against the odds – homeopathy for our rapidly changing world

July Book Club with Elizabeth Adalian and Nigel Hargreaves

For some years, Elizabeth published articles on her website which appertained to the declining state of health commensurate with the build-up and the effects of the outbreak of Covid-19.

After some time colleague and co-author Nigel suggested it was too valuable to leave the material there and should be published in book form for a much wider readership on the global stage.

Nigel with his knowledge of homeopathy as well as climate change, enhanced the contents giving them a wider perspective. Together, Elizabeth and Nigel encourage the appreciation of the timelessness of homeopathy for such phenomena we are currently witnessing.

Times were very different when Samuel Hahnemann first discovered homeopathy. Here, we were witnessing an existential crisis which needed very focused analysis to help restore resilience which had been eroded over recent years during these rapidly changing times in our patients.

In this session Elizabeth will give a summary of the contents looking at how every stage of life has been affected and how we can all flourish against the odds of current times with the targeted treatment she plans to shed light on. She will devote some of the talk to looking at certain lesser known remedies such as Butyric Acid and Prunella Vulgaris.

About Elizabeth
Elizabeth has been a practising homeopath for more than thirty years and has developed a reputation for her knowledge of lesser known remedies. This has been very useful in understanding the challenges faced today and how these remedies are now coming to the fore.

She has spent many years volunteering as a homeopath in former war torn countries as well as more recently working with survivors of the Grenfell disaster, as a contributor to SidebySide.

She now uses this experience to research trauma in its different guises – her earlier book published in 2017 ’Touching Base with Trauma: Reaching Across the Generations – a Three-Dimensional Homeopathic Perspective’ becoming a seminal work and informing her practice as well as her teaching generally.

About Nigel
Nigel Hargreaves has a background in engineering, climate change and sustainability, and carried out research on energy systems for his PhD.

He met Elizabeth Adalian in the 1980s after working in Asia and Africa and benefitted from her treatment with homeopathy from illness he had developed.

His career in homeopathy started in the 1990s at the London School of Homeopathy where he studied for his Licentiate and later started a practice focussed on helping people recover from drug and alcohol addiction.

Now working in the fields of energy decarbonisation and environmental regeneration, Nigel believes homeopathy has a critical role to play in building mental, emotional and physical disease resilience as we face increasingly threatening and complex global challenges. The signs and symptoms of which are evident in presenting cases of illness. It is for this reason that Nigel worked with Elizabeth to combine with her expertise in writing this book, to redeploy the wisdom of homeopathy through the lens of the 21st century.

The event is finished.
