[post_content] => An introduction to Instagram is the latest online course offered by the Society on the Nimble e-learning platform.

Instagram enables users to share photos and videos and is reckoned to be a friendlier and more positive place to be than other social media platforms.

After a brief description about how people generally use the platform, the course will explain how members can get started and what kind of material might promote their practice.

It suggests that homeopaths should begin with a picture of something clearly business related – the premises or room where they practice, a business card or logo. Accompanying text should explain a little about what you do, where you do it and your interest in homeopathy.

From there, members should think about adding illustrations about homeopathic remedies, books, events they attend and some personal interests.

Instagram accounts of organisations such as 4homeopathy, i.love.homeopathy and BritishHomeopathicAssociation as well as established accounts of homeopaths around the world will also be featured.

Once the basics have been covered, the course will touch upon advanced tips and techniques such as the use of photo filters and Instagram ‘stories'.

"Instagram is one of the most popular social media channels for homeopaths and the wider complementary and alternative medicine community," said Pamela Stevens, the Society's Marketing Manager. "With the new Nimble course, we hope to raise people's awareness of how it can be used to support members in the promotion of a practice, as well as for everyday purposes."
