victoriagarrettv4Victoria Garratt has joined the Society as the new Professional Standards Manager. Victoria’s work for the Society will include overseeing the delivery and standards of the Education and Registration departments as well as taking responsibility for maintaining the Society’s accredited register for the Professional Standards Authority.

Victoria has been within healthcare for many years. Since graduating as a Podiatrist she has been fortunate enough to gain a range of experience working within the public, private and charitable sectors to both deliver care, and to manage the standards of services, both in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

This included working for national regulators alongside the Department of Health, where Victoria managed and delivered the implementation of a new national service across NHS England. Following implementation, her role moved on to overseeing standards, training and compliance, reporting back to the Government and completing post evaluation activities including national qualitative research.

As a trainer and educator, she worked regionally alongside the Primary Care and Out of Hours emergency care sectors to develop education strategy and policy in line with national statutory and regulatory standards. This included developing and monitoring staff development and ensuring mandatory standards in education for GPs, Consultants and Allied health care professionals. More recently, she worked nationally as a freelance trainer to design and deliver training and education programmes to undergraduate students within the Higher Education sector, as well as clinical and non-clinical professionals within the health, social and charitable sectors.

Victoria is pleased to be joining the Senior Management Team at The Society and is looking forward to meeting and supporting the needs of its members
