[post_content] => A set of four fact sheets to support the Society’s mental health and wellbeing campaign is now available in the members' area of the website under My Society Campaigns.

The materials are designed to help members promote their own services, advocate the benefits of homeopathic remedies and to rebut some of the misleading claims made about homeopathy.

They are being published ahead of a Society symposium on November 17 in London which is bringing together experts and practitioners to explore the issues around mental health.

The first fact sheet provides a brief background on homeopathy and how it can contribute to supporting mental health and wellbeing, plus details of how to approach relevant organisations, both locally and nationally.

Number two is aimed at informing and reassuring potential patients using language that they will understand and explains, for example, that they do not have to stop taking existing medication.  The emphasis is firmly on the non-toxic and non-invasive aspects of homeopathy.

The third sheet is designed for other healthcare professionals/decision-makers and provides advice on what homeopaths can offer.  The approach is a little more technical but avoids jargon.

The fourth contains patients’ own stories and case studies, ranging from cases of depression to anorexia, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and post-traumatic stress.

"Mental health and wellbeing is one of the Society's key campaigns and it is an area in which homeopathy has much to contribute," said Mark Taylor the Society's Chief Executive. "The four fact sheets will provide members with the patient examples and other evidence of the role that homeopathy can play to help them make the case to others for its benefits."

The  symposium on mental and emotional health and wellbeing in London on November 17 is open to homeopaths and practitioners in other fields. To book a place click here.
