[post_content] => A wealth of resources to help members promote the benefits of homeopathy for mental health and wellbeing is available on the members' area of the Society website.

The Society is highlighting the materials as part of Mental Health Awareness Week (May 13-20).

They include four downloadable fact sheets featuring an array of information, including fundamental facts about mental health and case studies, which can be printed and used in sessions or given out to patients.

A 90-page handbook designed specifically for homeopathy practitioners and funded by the Homeopathy Action Trust draws on both conventional and homeopathic expertise. It focuses on issues such as staying safe, professional boundaries and the therapeutic relationship, rather than prescribing, and includes details of how different mental health conditions are classified plus contact details for organisations offering advice and support.

Under the My Voice section of the site, another downloadable resource – 'Mental health - what homeopathy has to offer' - sets out how the personalised approach of homeopathy practitioners can support those dealing with different mental health challenges.

Other links include resources produced by BACP The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, the World Health Organisation, links to articles in past issues of Society journal New Homeopath, and further reading.

Pamela Stevens, the Society's Marketing Manager, said research indicated that mental and emotional problems were among the most common reasons for people seeking complementary and alternative medicine treatments such as homeopathy.

"Members tell us that mental health is increasingly a concern for patients who consult them and we have a wide array of resources to help practitioners offer the best possible support."
