[post_content] => The Society is encouraging members and their patients to write to candidates in next week’s European elections (May 23) to ask them to pledge their support for homeopathy and complementary medicine.

A template has been produced for people to complete and send to the candidates of their choice via email. Polling will take place by region rather than by constituency and if you’re not sure who’s standing in your area, you can find out here.

“Complementary and alternative medicine practitioners are a major provider of healthcare in the EU, a point that candidates standing for election should be taking on board,” said Society chief executive Mark Taylor.

“With the current uncertainty, it’s still possible that newly-elected MEPs will serve full terms, so we need potential legislators to take up their new roles understanding and appreciating the benefits and importance of homeopathy,” he added.

"And as the vote will be dominated by Brexit, candidates might well appreciate a different topic to think about.”

The template is available in the Members' area under My Society/European Elections 2019. The wording can be adjusted to suit practitioner or patient.
