[post_content] => Members will have the chance to pose online questions to candidates standing for election to the Society’s board of directors from Monday, February 25 to Friday March 1.

The Q&A will be accessible via the forums in the members' area of the website. Members can also view statement videos and details of each candidate in the members’ area under My Society/Board elections 2019 candidate details.

Society Chief Executive Mark Taylor said the live Q&A was another way of bringing members closer to the election process and giving them an opportunity to quiz the candidates on issues that members felt were most pressing.

"It gives members a very direct but confidential way to pose questions to the people who are hoping to represent them on the board, similar to being at a hustings," he said. "When it is not possible for us to bring members and candidates together face-to-face, this is the next best thing."

Members should aim, if possible, to start a new thread on the forum for each topic, he added, so that candidates could address people's points individually.

The four standing for the two vacant posts are Sue Crump, Selina Hatherley, Margaret Kincade and Linda Wicks. Voting closes on Friday March 8.
