[post_content] => Alison Fixsen, the Society’s research officer, was a guest speaker at the 25th Forum Homeopathy for Advanced Practitioners in Duisburg, Germany.

Her presentation on antimicrobial resistance posed questions about the different methodologies used in homeopathic research into upper respiratory tract infections and directions research could take.

Other presenters included Jens Benke, who gave a critical overview of the sceptics in Germany and media attacks on homeopathy; Dr Tjado Galic presented on the homeopathic treatment of bronchopneumonia and Wiebke Lohmann spoke about the possibilities and limitations of homeopathy in thyroid diseases.

The event was sponsored by the Carstens-Stiftung Foundation, a major funder of alternative medicine research in Europe.
