SUMMARY:Summer Book club – with Dion Tabrett
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce that our summer  book club will be with guest author Dion Tabrett featuring his book ‘Rediscovering Burnett – Clinical Strategies of the Great Homeopath for Modern Practice, Line of Action of Remedies, Organ Remedies, Pathological Similimum, Vaccinosis.’\nJames Compton Burnett (1840-1901) was one of the greatest and most successful English homeopaths, renowned for his intrepid style. He was above all a practitioner, putting results above doctrine. This meant he was always ready to expand his knowledge and methods in unorthodox ways. His astonishing ability to heal even the most severe pathology demonstrates the validity of his ideas.\nDion Tabrett RSHom  has been working in the tradition of Burnett for more than 20 years so he is the ideal author to pioneer the rediscovery of this venerable old master. In this book he presents Burnett’s therapeutic approach and showcases his versatility using current examples from his own practice. Tabrett thereby casts Burnett in a refreshing new light, elucidating the true depth of his thinking and highlighting its continuing relevance for our modern age. We see the old treasures vividly come to life once more in a contemporary homeopathic practice.\nBurnett’s flexible therapeutic strategies for case taking, analysis and treatment are presented systematically. Topics such as the clinical line of action of the remedies and organopathy are described, as is the prescription of alternating remedies. Burnett offered new definitions of the law of similars and showed the difference between a symptomatic and a pathological simillimum. He stressed the value of the nosodes, introduced new remedies such as Bacillinum and coined the term vaccinosis.\nIf you are looking for a fresh impetus to your homeopathic prescribing, this book may well be just what you need..\n“Burnett was a therapeutic pioneer and master in solving complicated cases. He has been my reliable “Clinical Compass” for the last 24 years.”\n– DION TABRETT\nAbout Dion Tabrett MCH, MSc, RSHom\nDion studied at the London College of Homoeopathy, graduating in 1992 with the Licentiate of the college of Homoeopathy (LCH). This was followed up with post graduate study and the award of Member of the College of Homoeopathy (MCH) in 1994. He then continued studying with the Open University and graduated with a BSc(Hons) in Natural Sciences in 2003 and an MSc in Molecular Biology in 2007. Both of these degrees focused on human anatomy, physiology and pathology.\nDion has run clinics in Berkshire, Cornwall, Devon, London, Bristol and is now back in Devon. He initially began his teaching career at the London College of Homeopathy in 1994. Since then has gone on to teach undergraduates and postgraduates at various colleges in the UK- Bristol, London, Wales, Ireland- Dublin & Cork, Istanbul and New York with his easy going and approachable style. A well received Webinar series was presented to locations all over Australia in 2015. He has recently taken on the job as Clinical Skills and Casework module leader at the Centre of Homeopathic Education BSc course in London.\nHe works closely with Mike Bridger at the Contemporary College of Homeopathy in Bristol, where they both run the college clinic together. Dion teaches case analysis methods, anatomy and physiology and works in the college clinic. Mike and Dion co-founded and run the Orion Post-Graduate course, which is one of the longest running and most successful post graduate courses in the UK.\nFinally, Dion is a self confessed Compton Burnett geek. A nerd, an anorak of the highest degree and is the author of the book “Burnett Rediscovered” which was published in the spring of 2017.http://www.narayana-verlag.com/Dion-Tabrett/a6120?authors_id=6120&boxleft=1 ( http://www.narayana-verlag.com/Dion-Tabrett/a6120?authors_id=6120&boxleft=1 )This book describes Burnett’s work, prescribing style and clinical strategies.\nWebsite: diontabrett.com ( http://diontabrett.com )\nAll delegates will be added to a free prize draw and could win a copy of Dion’s book.\nKindly sponsored by The Homeopathic Book Company.\nFree online event for Society Registered, Student Clinical and Student Plus members.\nNominal charge for Student Essential members.
